FAQs

How do I clean laminate tops?

For daily cleaning you only need soap and water. Use a soft sponge for best results, no abrasive sponges. Make sure to clean up all water immediately around seams to avoid any moisture damage. Most disinfecting agents are completely safe for laminate. To remove a stubborn stain, use a small amount of alcohol or acetone.

How can I protect my Granite top?

Granite is a natural, porous stone. All of our Granite counter tops are sealed with a five year sealer to help protect the surface from everyday use. You should avoid leaving spills for a prolonged period of time. Make sure to avoid extreme heat, and acidic or abrasive cleaning products.

Can I put a hot pan on my new counter top?

A hot pan should never be placed on any kind of Counter top. Laminate, Corian, and Quartz are not designed to withstand extreme heat or acidity. While Granite counter tops may not immediately discolor from the heat, it will wear away the sealer and eventually damage the tops.

Why do I feel rough spots or fissures on my Granite counter top?

Granite is derived from naturally occurring minerals that can cause small cracks or fissures in the surface of the stone. Some stones are more prone to this than others. Most fissures do not impact the structural integrity of the top, and larger cracks can be filled to produce a smooth surface.

What is the difference between Quartz and Granite?

Granite is a naturally occurring stone while Quartz is a man made surface. Quartz is derived from some natural quartzite and mixed with polymer, resin and acrylic.

What do I need to do to prepare for my new countertops?

Once you have selected your counter top material we will schedule a template date. Make sure all items are cleared off, to allow access for accurate measurements. A homeowner, contractor, or designer should be on site to answer any questions our templator may have.
Before installation of your new kitchen, all plumbing must be disconnected. Sinks, faucets, and cook tops must be onsite at time of install.
